Sonar 8.5.3 - Windows 7 32bit, Sonar doesn't start anymore

About 5 month ago, I installed a fresh Windows 7 on my laptop (Lenovo R61i) and a fresh installation of Sonar with all updates. All works fine!

But now, from one day to another, Sonar can't start anymore. Windows says there is a problem and look for some solution. Send some information to ... I hope Microsoft - and thats it. :(
I have tried the compatibility mode of Win XP, but this doesn't work. I have removed some programs that I think they could may be bad for sonar. Nothing.
Had new installed Sonar - same thing. Sonar will not start anymore. What can I do accept a new Windows installation?

PS: I have tried Sonar in Windows safe mode, thats ok, Sonar will start. OK, not the right audio drivers, but Sonar start.

PPS: Found an error code id 1000! Don't know what thats mean.

There is no system error 1000, AFAIK. (Windows system errors are defined in a standard include file called winerror.h, which is a handy reference to keep on hand even if you're not a programmer.) That may suggest that the error was not actually raised by Windows but by some application or driver.

You can go to the Windows Event Viewer and find the entry in the Application category that corresponds to your crash. It will include the name of the faulting module. That may provide a clue. While you're poking around in the Event Viewer look for warnings and errors in both the Application and System categories.

Whenever SONAR crashes, it generates a minidump (for XP and Vista it will be in \documents and settings\{user_name}\application data\cakewalk\sonar 8.5 producer\minidumps, but I'm not sure if that's the same for Windows 7 since I don't use W7 for my DAW). If you open a support ticket with Cakewalk, you can upload that minidump file to them and they'll be able to provide more specific information to you.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Thank you bitflipper.  It was the event-id 1000, not the error id!
Here is an errorlog file from Windows7:

I would say a registry entry got trashed. I would uninstall Sonar, Clean the registry and then re-install.

    Gear: A bunch of stuff.

OK, Sonar works now! Thank you Middleman, thanks to Cakewalk Support!!!

My problem was the (original) audio driver for my Echo Indigo IO PCMCIA Soundcard!

I'm using now Asio4all 2.10 and Sonar is running better than ever.

This solution tooks me about 11 hours for 3 (or 5? don't now) new installations of Sonar, running 2 registry cleaner, costs me about 70 US Dollar for two registry cleaners, and all over all - that was no fun!

I'm not a big fan of ASIO4ALL, but if it works, that's good. You should try WDM mode and see if that works as well or better.
