Sonar 8.5-Imported click track from old song into new song. Timing is off.

Hey so I'm building midi backing tracks for live performance and the quickest way I've found when I had Cakewalk Pro Audio 7 was just copying the click track from an old song into a new one and adusting the length from there. It always aligned to the measures automatically. Sonar 8.5 is not aligning. Any advice?

So I see from your other thread that your backing tracks must be sans drums right?

So my other guess is the click track is going to be in your monitors all night right?

You can use any sound you like as a click track, you don't have to use the Sonar default sounds. Just create a track with 1/4 notes and assign it to the percussion sound of your liking. Just set the tempo of the song, hammer out a bar or two of quarter notes and quantize. Then loop them. This track can be copied into any new project.

As far as matching the tempo, the songs tempo is shown clearly, it will play the midi track at that tempo. If the midi file had an embedded tempo the indicator will show this. If  you set the tempo with the GUI and it keeps changing back then you can change it with the tempo map.
