MidiDreamer,
Seriously, you're running the FW at 1msec in Vista 64? Which version of Sonar? How much ram are you running?

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

I apologize , it is 1,5 msec actualy.
My Mobo is a Asus P5W64 WS, Intel Q9550 (not overclocked). Memory OCZ HPC Reaper 8500 4 gigabyte, Video card ATI Radeon 1950, Harddisk Sata II Samsung 500.
Sonar 8 Pro drivers WASAPI / WDM / ASIO all 1.5 msec possible

Sonar is now playing with these parameters the demosongs "Still Dreamin" on 44.1 KHZ, 24 bits.
Without a glitch switching between windows!!!
Cores run between 20-35%.

Kind regards

Midimine

Can anyone send me the Sonar Plugin 1.22 Beta? It cannot be located on the web: thecoulmans2000@yahoo.com

As far as Tascam is concerned, I have just about had it. Their support is the worst. Ever.

Bassman,
Sent you the file, it says "zip" on the folder, but I think the decompressed file is in there.
Tascam support is pretty bad, but we all seem to get by.

Hi guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster, new owner of Sonar 8 Producer.

I've been recording since the late 60's, own a gob of analog, digital and ADAT hardware, been mastering "in the box" with plugin-enhanced SoundForge since 2000, and have decided to make the jump into Sonar 8.

I'm also looking at a used FW-1884, and am trying to decide if it would be a good choice to go with Sonar 8. From what I've read so far, it looks like they might be a good match. We're pretty much finished with the basic tracks for our next CD, and I'm planning to transfer them from ADATs into Sonar 8 and finish the vocal tracks and other overdubs in the box rather than mix through an analog board with outboard gear. I'm interested to see how the mic pre's in the FW-1884 sound, although I've got a bunch of nice outboard pre's that I can use if they are a better fit.

So... am I nuts for thinking of buying an FW-1884 for $450 and using it with Sonar 8?
