Sonar ACT not learning my Axiom 61 2nd gen keyboard rotaries and sliders

I've tried following the instructions by pressing the ACT button then moving a plug-in parameter and then a rotary but no changes occur.  Please, can someone tell me what I need to do?  Many thanks!
