Sonar Home studio 6

I have just upgraded to a new computer using windows 7 (my old one is 10 years old). Is there any way I can use my well loved and well known Sonar 6 or will I have to buy a new version. If so, will my cakewalk bundles work OK. Also how do I go about upgrading my cakewalk with a retailer in the UK - how do I prove I own an earlier version. Hoping someone can help, cheers.

win7 was not around when SHS6 was designed, so it's "not supported."  however, I know several people who have reported on this forum that it works fine.  SHS6 also works on either 32bit or 64bit OS, but I know some people have had problems getting the 64bit to work correctly.  SHS6 / 64bit was the early version and the bitbridge probably wasn't as good as it is now.  so it should work, but there's no guarentee.  try it and see.

as far as upgrading in the UK - there are a couple of options.  cakewalk is actually the only real way to "upgrade" but they do have a few retailers they allow to sell upgrades.  in the UK, however, I think the UK folks often contact Roland UK (which I think is in Ireland, IIRC) for upgrades.

I'm one of them SHS 6/Win 7 folks. While this isn't my primary DAW, everything worked correctly when I loaded the 32-bit version on my 64-bit computer.
Some of the synths and effects that come with SHS 6 aren't 64-bit compatible, so if you load the 64-bit version of SHS 6 on your 64-bit machine and open a bundle file that references one of those 32-bit synths or effects, you'll get a 'can't find it' message.
