Sonar Platinum: Audio not saving to HDD

Not sure if this is an actual problem with the software or user error so i'm posting this here. 
 
I have a newly installed internal 2TB HDD intended to store all of my audio recordings and bounced vst audio.  In the past I was able to set the audio path to a new location that was not the boot drive by going to the save menu and selecting the drive and the folder I wanted to use.  Now, when I go to save a project the audio path changes back to the default audio folder the instant I click save and no audio is saved to the new HDD.  The audio instead goes to the default folder on the boot drive (which is a tiny 250GB Samsung EVO SSD).  
 
I have been using this HDD to store video for video editing since installing it and it works just fine. The drive was assigned a permanent letter from the disk management tool and works as it should with other programs. For some reason Sonar does not want to save to it.  Any help or workarounds would be appreciated.  The HDD is a Seagate ST2000DM006.  
 
I have also tried manually moving the audio to the new drive and Sonar is able to load from the new HDD but once I save it Sonar dumps all of the audio back onto the boot drive.

Have you tried going to preferences>Folder locations and change the path

Looked through all of the settings already and nothing there solved the problem. What I am referring to is the bottom box of the Save As dialogue box and being able to designate the folder the .wavs of the project save to.  
I have used this to store audio off of my boot drive since Sonar 8 and only recently had this issue of it saving to the default project folder on C:
 
I attempted to set the global audio folder on the HDD but the same issue occurs where it continues to save the audio on the C: drive in the project folder.
 
Before this happened I was using an external drive for the audio and it was saving to it just fine.  A quick check at the last date modified and it looks like I started having this problem at the end of June and I installed the new HDD at the end of July. Only recently did I notice that the audio was not being saved to the correct folder when my boot drive filled up unexpectedly. Not sure if an update broke something or if something else went wrong with the system.  I do use Windows 7 64 bit if that helps at all.  

Don't do it the way you do, that is on the fly. A Chucky says, set it and forget it in preferences. That's how it's done. Then there is the further understanding you should have about per-project audio folders. It really the only way to go.

You know , it's windows, all windows software works the same. You need to tell it where you want stuff to go and make folders etc. Just opening software and hitting save will result in it going to hidden folder on your C drive .
 
First as said above set your pathways to the drive your using to store data. 
This makes life easier. 
Your audio folder should always be inside the Project folder now as that is the default. In the past we had to check the "per project" box. If your using a older version this might be why you have a problem now. 
If the audio isn't there then perform a "save as" and check that copy audio box. 
This will resolve the issue ( if you know where the audio is) 
Always check the little box that say's copy audio with project when using "save as"
Never use the global audio folder.
