Sonar Platinum Latency Issue

Greetings,

I am subscribed to Sonar Platinum.  I am having a latency issue that I first noticed when trying to use Rewire.  I then noticed it when recording standard audio.   The strange thing is, that I can open the same project in Sonar X3 and the latency is gone.  Therefore, I can't blame it on my drivers or sound module.

Any ideas as to what the difference would be between X3 and Platinum that could be causing this?

My System Specs:
ASUS Rampage Formula MB
Core i7-2700K CPU
16GB RAM
1TB SSD Drive
Windows 7 64 Bit
Presonus AudioBox 22 VSL

The most probable explanation for a project having more real-time latency in Platinum than in X3 on the same system would be that the driver mode is different and/or the buffer size is set differently in Preferences.

That said, some users have encountered audio performance issues with the AUD.INI file inherited from their X3 installations that went away when they renamed or deleted it and let Platinum build a new one.

I have noticed that Platinum is a little on the sluggish side also presets won't stick and you have to re save settings. I am not sure if everyone else has these problems but it is definitely noticeable. It interferes with work flow!

I believe that this is the way to go. Have seen a number of people getting rid of issues by following the above advice.
    Best of luck.

I was initially snookered by Delay compensation - I thought my latency was terrible even though my buffer was set low.
    • try disabling PDC on live input
    • also try disabling FX temporarily
Both buttons are in the Mix control panel module
