Sonar Platinum Lifetime Updates - cost?

Sure you've seen this question loads of times but I can't seem to find definitive answer (maybe that's down to me). Getting emails saying that it's the last chance to purchase lifetime updates! OK - I bought Sonar Platinum outright (or so I thought), how much will it actually cost me to 'upgrade' to lifetime updates? And, if I don't do I still get bug fixes, support channels......? Many thanks.

If you don't purchase lifetime updates you will need to renew your license every year (just like before). That would be the only way to get updates and fixes if you are not on Lifetime.

jrrshop.com has the upgrade for $199 but if you use the code "group" (not "groupbuyauto") at checkout you can get it for $167.15USD. They will give you a redemption code that you use in the Cakewalk Store from there you will use either the offline installers oe the CCC to install all updates.

Thanks for response. I didn't realise that I had to renew license every year! Hadn't realised that this was something that needed to be done when I bought the product.

You don't have to renew, what you have will still work as is, you just won't get any more updates after 12 months.

Paulo is right, you already have a permanent license to run the software. Upon buying the software, you also receive one year of monthly updates for free. After the year, even though the program will still work the free updates stop. If you want to continue receiving updates, you need to pay to renew updates for another year. If you buy Lifetime Updates, you will receive ongoing updates without having to pay anything more.

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

if you can swing it that is the smart option. as to support channels, regardless, for 'most' things you have one of the best support mechanisms for free right here, the forums, which apart from certain things like maybe sales, account, authorization issues, will most likely get you sorted in a timely manner.
