Sonar Platinum validating files

Hey guys!

I installed Sonar Platinum when it came out and it worked fine. Today I decided to reinstall because I wanted to move stuff to another harddrive. I uninstalled Sonar and re-ran installation from the Command Center. It downloads files but gets stuck at Validating Files. I've tried it twice now and it gets stuck there for hours. First installation a while back when relatively quick.

If I check the download folder there are lots of files there.

I use Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit, Quad Capture, latest drivers, firmware etc...

It shouldn't have to download files. They should be in the download folder created by the Command Centre.

No the Command Centre is just a small application that handles the installation it downloads the appropriate files and then runs the installers so you dont have to. Or do I misunderstand your reply (english isn't my native language)

Mike is right it downloads the files to a Program Data Cakewalk directory under Command Center. There you can access them manually and install them. Whether Command Center will re-download for a reinstall I don't know for sure, you may be right.

    Hi Gang...

I realized this just a little earlier and I'm wondering.

I've got my DAW network connected but there are problems with download limits and such. I've got CC installed and registered...

If I am nsuccessful at getting it downloaded through CC, I will have to download it at another location/machine. I know how to do that...

What I'm wondering is if I place the file into CC's download folder. Will I be able to use CC to install and authorize? That isn't data intensive, so as CC easily registered with my account. I'm hoping this will work so that CC tracks my updates...

Does anyone have an idea if this will work? I might not have to, but.........

    Thanks!

If you copy the downloaded files to another computer using the same folder structure as on the PC that downloaded the file, by installing CCC on that PC it should find the downloaded files without having to download them again.

    Thanks mudgel...

I managed to download and install using CCC last night. I don't know how or when I will get the other pieces (help and tutorials being over 1G), but Platinum is installed on my main DAW and appears to be working... I wasn't able to really work it yet as I'm on limited generator time, but I'm reasonably happy. The install was painless and Niel must have gotten his fix in place as the missing PC modules list didn't happen. All appears as it should so far...

When I get the new laptop, I will install CCC and copy the sonar file to the expected folder... As I will be going back and forth between the two machines as electricity is available...

I don't have the luxury of fast internet.

I can't drag my Prostudio desktop to the office at work, where there is fast internet.

I want to load the files on an external HD, then take home and load.

That means downloading CC to my work PC.

Will this work, and if I need to load the program again on a new HD, if my DAW HD fails...is this possible.

I need to move to the city or at least somewhere where they: pick up trash, have city water, have sewer, have fire department and police department.

Don't get me wrong I love the country, but as I get older the city is looking more convenient.

    Most importantly...not enough time.

I managed to use CCC, But during my research I learned that you can still do things the old way and even a hybrid as I will do for my laptop...

Go to your account and you can download the files as usual... Install CCC and place the files in CCC's download folder...

Then you should be able to netball and authorize easily... If it doesn't work (I haven't tried it yet) you can manually launch the installer and use the offline authorizing method which simply involves invoking the authorize note from Sonar and then running the reply... There are full instructions nine but I can't remember where...

    Good luck!
