Sonar Platinum vs UAD plug ins

I certainly have had a lot of problems with Sonar every since I started using Universal Audio interface and their plugins.  Most problems Ive created workarounds for but this one I am not sure what to do.  It may just be a setting, but at present I can only use one UAD plug in per session.  More than one causes a DSP overload and the pop up says my UAD plugins are disabled.  Please advise....

    Did you check out this setting in AUD.INI
    "
    RealtimePreroll=<0 or 1>
    Boolean
    0
    This variable specifies whether preroll buffers are pumped as fast as possible or in real-time.
    Prerolling in realtime may improve buffering and CPU load when using hardware DSP solutions such as the Universal Audio UAD-1 or Focusrite Liquid Mix.

    What UAD interface? Are you using the Apollo Console 2 software?..depending on your interface if you are using a Solo then it will not take much to run out of DSP with some of the plugins especially the Neve 1073 Pre & EQ combo.

    In the UAD Control Panel|Configuration tab, make sure the "Extra Buffers" setting is enabled at all times when using SONAR.

    I use TONS of UAD and have zero issues.  I have essentially 12 Core UAD setup.  DSP / CSP in Sonar should remain fairly uneffected as that is the point of the UAD cards (to offload the host CPU) and of course it depends which plugin u are using as some are way more DSP heavy than others.  What UAD HW do you have and what plugins are you trying?  Also, disable the DSP loadlock in the UAD panel and disable portions of the plugins you're not using.  For Example, if you are using the Neve 88 strip and if your not using the EQ, disable it.   Loadlock will take up ALL the possible space a plugin COULD use while disabling is, you gain some extra flexibility and the memory is allocated only by the size the ;lugin actually needs.

    I realize this is an old thread, but was wondering whether LFM's trick with the Aud.ini file was good and what the exact line would be.  Does it really help with dsp processing?
