Sonar Producer X1 - Question about exporting to a Flash Drive & Hardware questions

Hello All,

I've been out of it for a while and so I'll explain my situation.
I can't remember how I did it but at one point I was able to take a recording and export it to a CD. I'm having trouble doing that.
Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to export to a Flash Drive.

I'm using Sonar X1 Producer Expanded on a PC I built a number of years ago that has a Quad Core with, I believe, 3.5Ghz and at least 4Gb RAM running WIN XP, yes…XP. I've never had any problems with playback (the sample tune plays fine) or recording unless of course "I" did something wrong.

I'm also using a Roland/Edirol UA-1000 connected to the PC. I believe I have one bad XLR input channel on the UA-1000 and I'm not sure I can get a schematic for it. Either way I'm wondering (without upgrading WIN XP) if I should add an ADAT expander (will ADA8200 work?) to gain a few more ch's live.

For those guru's…..what are my options?  I'd prefer not to have to upgrade WIN XP if I don't need to, and really don't want to spend Big $ on new hardware. But…..I'll give serious consideration to advice given….Pro's and Con's of upgrading V not?

Thank you.

The path for Exporting is exposed in the Export Dialog box - just make sure your flash drive is plugged in and select it as the destination

I assume your first question is about burning a song to CD yes?

If so, export as normal to yuor desktop. Choose 44.1KHz, 16 Bit with dithering applied

When it's finished you can just burn the resulting .wav to a CD-R

You never could export directly to a CD. You have to export to a WAV file and then use Utilities-Burn Audio CD or any other CD burner to create the CD. You should be able to File-Export-Audio and select your flash drive as the storage medium. Should be the same as exporting to a disk drive.

Thanks Jonesey. I need to look at it again and write down the issue but for some reason it wouldn't let me select the flash drive. I'll try it again.

Make sure the drive isn't full!
