Sonar Professional: Creating a drum map for Addictive Drums 2
I have Sonar Professional and have followed the instructions here to setup a drum map:
But when I create a new project based on the AD2 template I get dialog error that says: ---------- Missing Plug-ins The following plug-ins are referred to by the project, but could not be found. They may be missing or improperly installed on your system. Console Emulator [Bus: 'Master'] ---------- Can anyone help? Thanks, -Greg

The Professional version does not include the console emulator. Is this a new project or did you start with an existing project or template from a previous version of SONAR?

This is a new project and a new install of Sonar Professional. I'm just selecting the "AD2" project template as told in Step 4 in the link above. Ultimately, I'm just trying to setup a drum map for Addictive Drums 2. Thanks

The template you're using must have a reference in it for the console emulator plugin. Not a big deal, it just won't load because your version of SONAR doesn't come with it. You could try to find where it's referenced and delete it and save the template to another name (or resave it to the current name). I'm not sure how this will work with a ProChannel module. If you have a plugin in an FX bin that can't be found, the plugin name appears greyed-out. You can just right click on it and delete it.

Hi Gregory did the template get installed as part of the installation and if so where is it located on your system, I can not find an AD2 template in the default location for SONAR track templates.

The "AD2" template was obtained from Step 1 from this information:
I simple copied it and the map to where told in the instructions. Why would Cakewalk provide a template that isn't compatible with my version? (Sonar Professional / just purchased in order to get Addictive Drums) What am I going to lose by not having the "Consolue Emulator Bus" plug-in? Again I'm very new to Sonar and just want to figure out how to map out my AD2 kit. (Funk) Thanks again, -Greg

Ok, apparently I can't copy and paste a URL. But if you search the Cakewalk.com site for knowledge base article number 2007013364, you'll see the article I'm referring to. That I followed.

Hi Gregory, First to answer you link problem to control spam you need a number of pots to post a link I believe it is 25 in these forum and 5 for the songs forum. To answer your other queries firstly SONAR Professional does not come with the Console emulator software as noted by Jim. Secondly "Are you going to miss out by not having the Console emulator" not really the idea is adds that flavour of using an analogue console, a little distortion, a little colour. It is like have some extra icing on your cake. It will not affect your use, experience or fun of using AD2. To ensure the drum map is pointing to AD2 correctly once you have the template open, 1. press P to open preferences 2. Ensure the Advanced radio button is selected 3. Click on Drum Map Manager 4. Look at the output column it should point to Addictive drums if not 5. hold down the shift and ctrl keys click on the down arrow in one of the output column arrows 6. Select addictive drums from the list, (All should change) 7. Click apply and close the preferences window. (You may like this as a small alternative method. 3a select the AD 2 Standard map in the presets column continue on to 4 until after 6 click the save icon to save the change to that map) Hope that helps with the mapping problem. For the template you will unfortunately need to remove any of the greyed out PC modules one at a time and then re-save as a template.

I followed the same article and had no problems (but I have Sonar Plat). The only issue I have is that I cannot figure out how to automate an HPF on the kick drum only in this drum map setup. Anyone have a pointer to some help on how to accomplish this? (sorry for the hijack)
