Sonar Theme Editor: using Mercury’s theme for Strip backgrounds

Okay – I finally got the editor working – but can’t do what I want to do yet.
I want to impart color to just two elements:
Track View
  Focused Background Strip
  Unfocused Background Strip
The Mercury theme does this when you select a track color, but Tungsten does not. The Mercury colors are pretty bright, however. I just want to adjust the colors that Mercury uses for these background strips (make them darker) BUT also use varying colors as selected for Tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. (like Mercury does).

When I edit and save a Mercury theme to another theme, it simply imparts one color to focused tracks and another to the focused track(s).

Any thoughts? Is this even possible?

Only the Mercury theme supports strip colors. All other themes are derived from Mercury including Tungsten. Any change with the theme editor no matter how small results in a theme that is not Mercury. At this time, the only way to maintain strip colors is hack the resource files...not recommended.
