Sonar X1 Expanded not Mixing Down correctly.
I've been working with X1 Expanded for a few days now, but today it failed tremendously. Sonar is not able bounce in any way, it just keep rendering a file wich start and finishes at random points. In other words, sometimes the resulting wav is starting at 0:23 of the project (0:00 in the wav is 0:23 of the project), and in the next atempt in 0:03. The range is properly specified by selecting all the clips with ctrl-e. Realtime mixdown didn't help, nor turning 64-engine option off. Using bounce to track results in the same error. Can someone please help me out with this? What's the point of having a DAW that cannot even mixdown properly? Thank you

are you trying to mix down audio, midi or a combination of both?

If things had been working and now they are not (using the same exact setup/software), then SOMETHING changed. Or the project got corrupt somehow. OR there is something you clicked on and didn't realize you did so. These types of things happen a lot, as I'm sure you'd agree and know. So - my first questions would be: Does this happen in every project or just one specific project? Did you check to make sure "loop points" are not set erroneously? If it's happening in EVERY project, you may have developed a hardware problem (most likely with your audio device). If it's only happening in the one project, that will be a lot easier to debug.

Hi guys, thanks for your help. It's an only audio project. I checked with other projects and mixdown works just fine with them. I'm les worried now, but still don't know what's happening. I didn't create any "loop points". Thank you again.

Just to clarify (not patronizing) are you Edit-Select all before Export?

I didn't create any "loop points". Thank you again. IF other projects are ok, at least it seems your device(s) are ok as well. So it's something in this one project. I would next try disabling all FX (in X1 the default is "E" keybinding... I changed that as it's way to easy to type that and not realize one did so!). If you disable all the FX it will eliminate any rogue FX problem for the moment. Then you could track down which FX is the culprit. You could also try to export the audio and then import it into a new/fresh project to see if that at least gets you going again. If you can't 'export", you could try copy/paste.

dayl yes i select all before exporting and it just keeps making files with random durations, i don't get the same result twice. I ended up taking 3 of those files and making a complete program out of them using wavelab.

When i bounce to clips for example, it should leave everything in place, and the new clip results into having the audio in wrong places (time)

Try removing the video (and it's accompaning audio track if it has one) completely from the project and "saving as" a new project name. Then export that.

rodhuerta BTW the project uses a video Wow - I completely missed this post. I would take Ol Pal's suggestion and try to export without the video.
