Sonar X1 Producer MIDI issue with Roland Edirol P10

In preparation for an upcoming live performance, I am trying to trigger a movie file on the Edirol P10 to play via MIDI.  I'll be quite honest-- I never use MIDI so this is most likely the problem.  I have a MIDI track I created in X1 and used the piano roll to draw in a quick C2 note at the beginning of the track.  I have the MIDI track output to the Cakewalk UA-4FX and from there it goes into the P10 MIDI in.  On Producer X1 I have the MIDI track set up as Omni and Channel 1.  On the P10 I have the reception channel as 1 and also have the assignable key range set as C2.  When I hit play in Sonar I see the P10 flash quickly as if it's receiving the MIDI signal, but the pad does not fire.  Any ideas?  I simply want the pad with the movie file on the P10 to play when I hit play on X1.
