Sonar X1 + Prophet V Problem

Every single time I hit pause, or stop in Sonar X1, my Prophet V VST unchecks "Release".
I have a feeling there's an easy solution to this that I am just missing, but I just can't find it.

I know Sonar X1 is really old and probably isn't even supported anymore, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

This the Arturia Prophet V?  which release version.  I can remember a similar problem when I was running the first two version of the Prophet, I think I got around the problem by turning on the release button on the front panel.

I'm not entirely sure what the question is, but I'll do my best.
I am talking about the Arturia Prophet V.
The VST version of the Arturia Prophet V is 3.2.0.1183

This button is unchecked every time I press one of these.

I do work around it by clicking it back on, but i kind of thought there would be a permanent solution.

Something in the way the VST is configured is turning off the Release when Sonar stops. There are some midi signals that Sonar sends when you stop playback. You can configure some of these in Sonar's Preferences. However, you should definitely figure out what the VST itself is responding to because it may be something that is configurable in the VST as well. It may be responding a midi controller being zeroed when playback is stopped. If that's the case, you may just want to remap it to another controller.

This is where you can disable "Zero Controllers When Play Stops", which will introduce some new problems. If that "fixes" your issue, then you know that it is a controller getting zeroed causing it. I would still recommend digging into the VST and seeing if you can remap the controller that is affecting it to something less common, and/or add that specific controller to your midi track.

Thanks. There aren't many settings on the Prophet V program, but I'll look more into it.

Peter Dan is talking about SONAR's preferences not the plugin, look at the SONAR reference guide for X1 page 1597

Look under Preferences > Project > MIDI > Zero Controllers When Play Stops.

This resets all controllers when play stops.

You may want to un-check this one as well Patch/Controller Search back Before Play Starts.

This forces the original patch to be reloaded.

Wookie, I'm actually referring to both. If the VST is responding to controller zeroing and you don't want it to, there may be a way to change the VST settings to disable that particular option. More than likely, there is a CC mapped to release, and zero=off. Disabling "Zero controllers..." in Sonar comes with its own set of problems...
