Sonar X1 Studio, Kontakt 4 and Modern Drums

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has used or uses Kontakt 4/Modern Drums with Sonar X1 Studio?

My issue is that I would like to be able to assign each drum to a separate track in Sonar X1 so I can effect them differently.

I apologise if this is a really basic question but I am new to Sonar X1 and have, until now, been working in a DAW that does not embrace the motion of MIDI tracks.

when loading Kontakt 4, select the '16 out' version. Then once you've loaded in Modern drums, go to the 'mixer' tab in Kontakt (2/3 down the screen) and you'll see under each kontakt fader is the word 'Default', click the kick, assign to primary stereo 1 (kick actually mono, you can change the interleave if you want), snare Kt st2:stereo (again mono), hats kt st3 , toms kt st4 (I usually stereo group these, but you could further separate), stereo OH kt st5, stereo room kt st6, mono OH kt st 7, mono room kt st 8.

These are just a quick way.... you can run more stuff by sending 2 different mono things to 1 stereo eg. kick st1 L, snare st1 R.

Also if you already have stuff loaded via the 2 ch kontakt, you can go to the output channel tab in kontakt and add channels there and even setup your own output configs...

    hope that helps!!!

    Hi there,

I asked the same sort of question a few days ago, and a few people posted some very helpful and detailed instructions. Check them out here:

    All the best.
