    Hi kevo-

Works fine here for audio, but I haven't gotten MIDI scrub to work yet.

Not on the trial version. Regular version is working for both.  New keybinding is "J".

You mean MIDI scrub doesn't work, but just on the demo? Audio scrub works fine here (demo).

    Ok. an update.

    Scrub works for audio only.

I cannot get scrub to work for midi in either TV or PRV.

Does Scrub work in the FULL Retail version of Sonar X1?

OK. I'm beginning to think it may be an option or setting somewhere.

MIDI notes do not play in PRV when clicked on.  There is also no sound when a key is pressed on the keyboard at the left of the PRV.

This obviously must be something I am missing.

Scrub in PRV worked briefly here, then I tried it on the same clip in Track View and it didn't. Now it doesn't work in PRV either. Even though I see the audio meter for the synth registering sound, I hear nothing.

I have only ever used it in PRV with Midi.  I tried midi in track view and it doesn't seem to work there.  If PRV I have found that I sometimes have to hit the space bar(start play back) just for a second(or less) and then it behaves as expected.  To turn off scrub you can not toggle it off with "J" just hit "T" to bring the tool HUD back up and choose another tool again. (Again I am working with the full version, not the demo/trial version)

    Appreciate the resposes!

I looked up scrub in the Getting Started under help.  It works as expected for audio.  However, interestingly enough, it does NOT mention using it with MIDI.

I tried the spacebar trick lorneyb2 suggested and Scrub does not work with MIDI at all.

Sooooo.... now what?  A special tool called ...?

I have been testing Sonar X1 using the The_Circuit_Symphony_Moon_Beams project.

I have noticed some weird behavior with the project.  I inserted an instance of Dimension Pro and soloed the track.  Sonar X1 toggled Solo on about a dozen or more tracks as well.

So I'm dumping this project, and starting with a blank project and see what happens.

From the help topic "Working with MIDI clips":

    To scrub a MIDI clip
    1.  Set the track’s Edit Filter control to Clips.

    2.  Do one of the following:

    - To scrub a single track, hold down the J key and drag across the track.

    - To scrub all visible tracks, hold down the J key and drag in the time ruler.

So it sounds like it should work -- or the documentation should be changed.

I started a new project and many of the problems I was seeing are gone.
PRV is working now as expected, and scrub is also working in the PRV.

However, in Track View, MIDI will not scrub no matter what I try.  Scrubbing Audio seems to work fine tho.
BTW.  How do I get Sonar X1 to stop rewinding to the start after pressing the spacebar to stop the playback?
I've searched through the Preferences umteen times now.  Well, it might not be umteen, but at least eleventy-seven times. :)

EDIT: Found the answer to the above. It is under options tab in the TV.
