Sonar X1, Win 7 64bit, and Echo Audio Layla24
Hi, I took the Win 7 plunge and went for a new computer. I've been happily using Layla24 in Win XP using WDM drivers. I see in the Layla24 Win7 readme file that they recommend using ASIO in Sonar X1. Is anyone using an Echo Audio PCI card with X1 in Win 7 64 bit? What Echo Audio driver mode are you using? Thanks, Sergio

Using Echo Mia with Vista 64 bit ASIO drivers on a Win 7 machine. Very low latency. Download at Echo's website. I haven't checked lately for Win 7 specific drivers. Probably should.

Echo Gina3G here. Using latest drivers from Echo website. Are you guys suggesting that the ASIO drivers are a separate download from the sound card drivers?

No, not a separate download. Sergio, "driver mode"? What are you refering to?

WDM seemed to work better for XP but ASIO works better with Vista/Win7

I have an Echo 3G PCI and Win 7 64. I have used both ASIO and WDM and honestly have seen little to no difference in performance. Both perform fantastically. I settled on ASIO just because Echo suggested it, but either one works great for me.

Thanks, Sergio Hi, I have your setup except for Win 7 which in my case is 32-bit. I installed Echo ASIO Driver 8.5. Once I installed X1b I lost input channels #2, 4, 6, and 8. Echo doesn't have any idea why this happened, and after my recent experience with Cakewalk technical support I don't expect any solution from that direction either.
