Sonar X1 going nuts... Totally ! Help please ! Everything is shaking....

I am trying to open a project that was ok until last session. Only difference : I used pitch correction of 2 or 3 spots. On opening the project, these windows are shaking (staying blank and shaking) abd all my menu bar in Sonar is also shaking.  Seems everything is freezed.  I tried to restart the system to no avail.

Anyone experienced that ?

(Thisis second time I experience this.... It happened on X1b then now on X1c just installed (oh yeah: this is another difference... But those changes were done under X1c).
One other thing though: that last session, I shutted down by mistake my external Audio interface (RME Fireface 800) *before* closing the project...

Afterward, as I do often, I backed-up the entire folder on two other locations... Unfortunately, it looks like trying to open that project from any of the 3 locations gives me same result.  How can I get everything back ?  This is a complex project...Please...

It might be you've somehow corrupted your driver installation by shutting down your interface first.

Try deleting the driver and re-installing.

Try opening it in Safe Mode (press and hold the Shift key while opening the project).

Must say that any other project work fine... So, should I eliminate this possibility ?

I'm told (of course !!) on RME forum that shutting down the interface can have an impact on the stability of the application itself and may mess with saved routings inside a project (which channel is assigned to which fasder/track etc). It should not corrupt your files though...

Yeah, that sort of rules out a driver problem.

Have you tried Benstats suggestion and opened in safe mode? Enabling your plugs one at a time?

I'll try it - never tried the safe mode before... Once there (if by any chance it works), what should I do ?

    Thanks ! :)

Save as and hope that it saves a clean version that you can open normally.

If/when it works - do a "save as" immediately to a new folder and make sure you've got "copy audio with project" checked.

You are my new friend !! really :)  This worked perfectly (had never tried it before). This saves me hours !!
    MAny thanks !

Btw, under new name (saved as), I do not see any of the plug-ins I okayed (I just said no to the last 2-3 ones, in case, but no more appear... Since I'm not in mixdown process, it's no big deal compared to having to redo all tracks, but just wondering...)
