Sonar X1 installation question -- need help

Hello everyone, Someone gave me an Acer Aspire laptop for free recently and I wanted to use it at work to do some recording. When I initially installed X1, there wasn't enough space on the C drive of the laptop. So, I uninstalled X1 from the C drive, moved all the files over to the D drive and everything installed fine. When I open X1 (Producer Expanded), I get a warning that I don't have a compatible sound card, which is fine because I haven't bought an interface for this laptop yet. But, there are two strange things that I can't explain: 1) usually, when you open a project, there should be project templates.... 16 track audio, 24 track audio, MIDI project, etc.... I only get one option: "Normal." 2) when I select "normal," there is no master bus at all nor any audio tracks in the project. So, I guess what I'm asking is.... why are the project templates missing and why is the master bus missing? Do I have to uninstall and then reinstall? I'm just a little confused.

oh, let me add.... in console view, there are two tracks that say "MASTER" with two red faders on each track. But, I'm used to the "master" being a bus that is already there when you open a project. The metronome bus also is not there when I begin X1.

Check Edit > Preferences > Folder Locations and make sure that all the directory entries are correct. If they are, you are missing files from the "Cakewalk Content" directory. You can copy that directory from your other machine (it sounds like you have another machine running X1). If that is not an option and you want the project templates and all the other stuff that is normally installed in the "Cakewalk Content" directory, you will need to reinstall.

These are your Main Outs, or Soundcard/Interface outputs.

If you want a Master Buss (which is a damned good idea!!) you either have to insert it yourself or use a template containing one.
