Sonar X1 not seeing Sampletank VST in Synth Rack - but sees it everywhere else!

Hi there,
I've looked and looked on various threads and could not find an answer that I haven't already tried. So I thought I would try my own post...
 
Here's what is happening...
I have Win7x64, running Sonar X1 Producer x64.
I have Sampletank 2.5.2 installed.
I can find it in the Plug-in Manager, it is not disabled or "excluded." It is configured as
a synth (even though I have tried the other options).
I load Sampletank into my custom layout, I can SEE it in the layout, so I save the layout.
Then when I go to Sonar's browser, load my layout under the plugins tab, and it shows Sampletank fine, and even lets me drag 'n drop it into an audio track's FX bin--
where it actually opens fine--I can see the synth--even load instrument sounds, but since
it's only loaded in the FX bin, and it isn't loaded into the synth rack-- it has no MIDI track feeding it, so I can't play it.
Problem is when I go to the Synth Rack tab, and I select my custom layout (where Sampletank
IS visible in the Plug-in Manager, and the plug-ins tab of the Browser) Sampletank is no where to be found in the Synth Rack.
 
I know it is installed though, because I can run the Standalone version
and it plays fine. But inside Sonar, I can't load it as a synth, only as an effect. And I tried a lot
of different combos inside the Plug-in Manager with Sampletank's "plug-in properties" as well, such as "configure as synth", or "configure as time-based effect", use "jbridge wrapping" or not, etc...none seems to make it available in the Synth Rack. I know I had it working not that long
ago, but somehow it has lost it's synth capability. Ugh!! Any thoughts??
