Sonar X1 recording issue

I am encountering a recurring problem in recording w/ Sonar X1 Studio. I am using a brand new Sony Viao computer, dual core 64 bit processor, Windows 7, Tascam US1641 interface. After a take is made, I can no lodger record. Meters do not read signal. In order to continue recording, I must save, exit the project, then re-start the project. All time consuming in the heat and frenzy of the creative/productive moment. What to do?

That sounds like your drivers are losing communication with Sonar. I'd start with a driver uninstall/reinstall and go from there.

What Driver Mode are you using? Have you tried the other. i.e. If you're using WDM try ASIO or vice versa.

Are your power options set to "always on"?
Also, in your devise manager, make sure windows does not control your usb and firewire hubs.
