Sonar X1 supports ADAT SYNC?

Is ADAT Sync on an RME soundcard of use in Sonar. Can it be used to sync a HD24?
Can a JLCOOPER DATASYNC2 be used to sync other devices over midi I/O?

Long ago I used a JL Cooper Datasync to create SMPTE that Cakewalk 7, 8 and 9 would chase. Once I got my first 8 in and 8 out sound card, recording to a pair of ADATs was a thing of the past. I have a lone ADAT sitting in my rack in case I get an urge to pull some old tracks off of some old tapes or help someone out with the same situation. In that case my Frontier Dakota Card handles the ADAT sync duties. So the answer is more or less "Yes" it can be useful.

Adat sync is probably usable, but word clock might accomplishes pretty much the same thing. If you go with word clock pay attention to termination as it can make a real difference. Use T connectors and a 75 ohm cable and a terminator at the last device. I use an RME interface and go with word clock and midi time code to sync to external mutitracks, although I usually limit this to transferring tracks into a Sonar project.
