Sonar X1 users and Korg M3 - a Karma on/off Button issue

This is for all people using the M3 with Sonar X1(a)(b)(?):

Turn on the M3.  Let it completely boot up.
Start Sonar X1.  Create a new project with no tracks.
Insert 1 midi track.

I am using a UMG-3 midi interface.  The M3 is on Port 1.
The M3's default Global midi channel is 1.
In Sonar's midi track in the track pane, assign as follows:

Midi input - M3 midi channel 1 (UMG-3 port 1 midi channel 1)
Midi output - M3

Now - on the M3, the Karma button should be lit.
Press it to unlight it. (turn it off)
Now press it again to light it. (turn it on)

The button triggers pad 2.
Press pad two to turn the sound off.
Turning the Karma button off, and then back on, will trigger pad two again.

This happens on any combi or program or sequence.

I will continue to try and diagnose the source of this problem.  Are any of you use the Korg M3 with Sonar X1 (a or b or ?) finding this also happening at your end.

Thanks in advance.

SOLVED:  In Sonar Preferences/Midi/Playback and Recording:

Uncheck "Always echo current midi track".
