Ah, I can't view any youtube stuff from my work pc, and I won't be home for several hours.

Hopefully someone else will chime in soon

Hmmm that's weird. The only thing I can think of is that the Mbox drivers are messing with Sonars recording.

Probably a stupid question but I have to ask; does it sound different too?

Reason I ask - I've never tried the Mbox with Sonar but I know there's a pain in the arse to have the two play together nicely - it could be a bit rate/herz thing happening.

If I recall correctly, the Mbox doesn't work ASIO drivers with Sonar, right? Are you on WDM drivers or something else?

Does the Mbox have a control panel? If so, check that it set to the same audio resolution as in Sonar under Preferences-Audio-Driver Setings, for example 44,1KHz/16-Bit.

I'm not sure if this is the case but it's the only thing I can think of and worth checking out I think.

Oh, ok. If you're using ASIO then I believe that shatters my theory

But ok, try changing driver modes and see if that helps. If not then hopefully someone with first hand experience with a smilliar setup will chime in.

    LZ,.

I don't no nothing about the mbox but SONAR can be difficult to get set up and running at times.  The good news is once you get it synced w/ the hardware it will usually stick.  It sounds like a mismatch between the hardware and SONAR, esp. as you had the 44.1 and 48 mismatch.

Under the Options>Audio there are several pages - all of them need to be set to the same hardware/bit depth/sample rate.  If you spend a little time on the pages SONAR's methodology will become clearer.  Once you have those all set make sure the mbox is also set up for the same SR and Bit Depth.  Then shut SONAR down.  Older versions needed this step - I'm not sure if X1 still does but it won't hurt none.

Now, restart SONAR and make sure the settings have stuck.  If they have, hopefully that has curred your problem.  If not, back to square one.  And do a new recording - I've had the same problem w/ a files that have come in at 48 while SONAR is set to 44.1.

Another thing that might be a problem is the tempo.  SONAR can automatically stretch/compress audio clips. If you change tempo from a recorded file it will shrink accordingly.

LZ - sorry to hear that. I'm all out of suggestions then. Unless you have a bit depth missmatch (16-bit in Sonar? 24-Bit on Mbox?). But as I don't know how the Mbox works I won't speculate any further. Hopefully AT's walktrhough there can get you sorted.

    Good luck!

@AT are u sayin i can change the tempo on each individual track cuz that seems like what its doing taking my vocals from the tempo i recorded them to and shrinkin them to speed them up im not touching the main tempo though its at 120 and im adding the beat into sonar and creating a new track and recording vocals and bam it shrinks them and gives them like a click pop nasty sound as they are sped up real fast as well

Sounds like your drivers are just not right. Did you download the latest Drivers and make sure its for your OS and 64 bit. ( or 32) Often drivers are the cause of weirdness. I would also start fresh with a new project and use a normal template or something. Make sure there are no weird settings. It's easy to bump a shortcut that screws things up. Sonar always defaults to what ever the interface drivers tell it for sample rate. A 44.1 file played at 48 will slow down, Word length does not effect sound pitch or time ( 16 bit or 24 etc.) only clock rate.

This is because it of a sample rate miss-match. Just changing the sample rate so they match will Not fix it. You need to RE-Record it, making sure both sample rates are the same or export it at the same sample rate and then import it back into the project.
