Sonar X1 won't record audio.

I have a Dell xps 8300; Intl Core I5-2310; M Audio Fast Track Pro. I am able to playback the Demo. When I enter MIDI in staff view it plays.( I lost everything in the flood in upstate NY and have not yet replaced my keyboard so I don't know if it will record MIDI from my keyboard.) I can't record audio. There is no movement in the meters. The audio I am trying to record can be heard through the monitors. (MAudio BX-5a) The MAudio drivers are recognized and selected as the proper input. I have tried both ASIO and WDM driver mode. My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit. Any suggestions before I call support tomorrow would be welcome.

Are the meters moving when the track is armed and you're playing?

    Peace!

Check that the Audio engine is running. Icon is on the transport module of the control bar, bottom left. If it isn't click on it and that should get it running.

Checking "Play effects tails after stopping" in Preferences->Audio->Play back & recording will make it stay on permanently.

Try all the inputs in the track input section.

    EDIT:

This desktop seems to have USB 3.0 (I looked it up on the Internet.) I think I read somewhere that the Fast Track doesn't work right when connected to a USB 3 port. I think I heard it has to be connected to a USB 2 port. Maybe that's the problem.

I swapped the M-Audi interface for a Tascam with the same result. I downloaded a Dell USB 3.0 Driver and it seemed to do the trick. I appreciate the help.
