Sonar X1 x64 + Windows 7 x64 + MCU Pro ..... anyone running this combo ?

OK, am getting desperate now - have tried the settings as CW suggested, but no go.....

So ...... is anyone here running the following:-

- Sonar X1 X64
- Windows 7 X64
- MCU Pro
- USB Midi Connection into a USB 2.0 port

If you are, do your Faders respond to automation playback is a smooth / oily / silky  way  *OR*  in a jerky / jittery / "steppy "  motion  ?

All help / comments / thoughts / suggestions would be much appreciated.

Tim

Same setup - the video is jerky and I don't sine waves in sound. The MCU Pro / XT work the way I expect them to, no better or worse than under 8.5.3.

Someone else may have different results.

    Hi sdpate

Dont mean to be pedantic, but just to confirm:-

    - you run Windows 7 X64
    - Sonar X1 X64
    - you connect your MCU Pro via USB

=> and when you draw Volume Automation and play it back, the faders follow your drawn automation in a very smooth / oily mannner  ie: no jerky / jittery fader movement ?

If the above is right, can I please ask:-

    - are you running SP1 on Windows 7 X64 ?
    - what is the specific model Asus motherboard you are running ?

    Many thanks,
    tim

Yep - running Win 7 x64 SP1 and Sonar X1b x64 Build 255 w/ Mackie Universal Control via USB 2.0 - works fine.  The only issue I've encountered is it takes a few seconds for the MCU to respond when opening new projects.

Are you using a USB wireless/mouse?

I occasionally get an issue where that is very sluggish while my MIDIman interface for my MCU is active. If I uninstall the interface or reboot the problem goes away. Perhaps you are seeing a similar issue in reverse. Just a thought.

Calling CW Techs ...X1 + MCU Pro " Jerky " Automation Playback ...possible solution (?) 2011/06/28 06:02:56 (permalink)
    Hi CW

My problem is outlined here:  http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?high=&m=2332890&mpage=1#2333397

From another user in another forum, I found an Apple / Logic user who had *exactly*  the same problem with their MCU Pro faders playing back the automation in a "jerky " / " steppy "  manner.

They emailed me their fix - it is below in  italic blue:-
    ___________________________________________

Hi .... Yer got it sorted , just open it up in a new user page, worked fine , so then went the into the library and trashed,

    com.apple.logic.pro.plist
    com.apple.logic.pro.cs
    com.apple.logic.pro.LSSharedFileList.plist
    com.apple.loginitems.plist
    Then rebooted... problem fixed
    ___________________________________________

I know the above fix was for an Apple / Logic DAW  but given the problem was  precisley identical  to mine, I am really hoping that one of the CW tech's can advise what the  " equivilent " files  may be in a Windows / Sonar environment.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello Tim,

Threads combined. The only way to reach our tech support is to call or email, both of which are free. Maybe try contacting Mackie's support as well?

i second mr untallenteds theory..ditch the wireless mouse..did nothing but create probs imo.
i find the gui very jittery at times.i can only hope the future releases fix the gui's quirks.
i have constant freezes(for a brief second or so) when opening any vst window.sometimes a drop out.im running 4 gigs or ram..a small project with 4 tracks i wouldnt expect to have a freeze or drop out.
dare i say this doesnt happen in other daw programs i own.
hopefully this is an issue that is microscoped
