Sonar X1c Not Exporting Synths (VST's, etc)
I have a mix of audio and virtual synths (Pentagon, z3ta+). When I export to WAVE everything exports except the synths. What gives? Shouldn't "ALL" mean ALL?
Frustrated and wasting studio time again with Sonar...

By audio synths I assume you mean hardware? If that's the case you'll need to either record their audio in advance of an export or use the live input option. Virtual synths should export fine though. One tip is before exporting and assuming you want all tracks and the full length of the project is to use ctrl+Shift+A which is select none. If you have nothing at all selected Sonar will export everything.
Another is to make sure that you are setting up the options in the export box correctly. The export function is very powerful but because of that there is some complexity to it. As a rule of thumb the "What you hear" choice is a good default.

No, not hardware. I'm merely exporting VST's and audio (vocal) tracks. X1 exports everything except the VST's. All routing is through Master and I use ctrl+shift+A and I have tried several of the presets - including What You Hear... nothing exports the VST's. X1 only exports audio tracks.

That's got me beat then. I've just done an export a couple of hours ago with some VSTs. Not that that helps you of course. I presume it's playing back okay prior to the export?

Yep, plays back beautifully. I thought I might even be able to bounce the synth tracks to audio like I used to but no luck there either. Sonar tells me there are "no audio events in the track to bounce"

Just did a clean reboot and going to try again... have a few bugs that are piling up in regard to my PC that only a reboot can fix...

If you have envelopes on them, probably the problem.
They don't always work. Try a reboot of sonar, don't play it, export.

That's very strange. The no audio message is what you'd expect when you haven't got the audio track of a VST selected. Are you using simple instrument tracks or the MIDI and Audio separately?

Yes. "Automations" i guess they are called now. I use them constantly.
