Sonar X1c

I suspect the reason for putting X1C out in August, the middle of the holiday season, is to offset the huge demand on their system, that happened with the release of X1B

I wonder how much they are thinking about X2, when 9 month after releasing X1 still there are work todo on that.

Is it X2 - XX that is Christmas greetings

    or is it XXX?

The thing that happenend around the X1B release time was due to Amazon who is the company that Cakewalk's users to provide its backend servers. They had a whole thread about that particular business relationship and the problem that was caused by Amamzon's outage.

Not too many companies that would tell you that much about their inner workings like that. So I don't think there's much reading into anything. Even though it can be "fun" to speculate that's all it really is in the end; speculation!

I suspect that X1c in August has more to do with that's when they said it was going to be ready.

What holiday season? There's literally zero holidays in August in the US. For us, the holiday season starts with Halloween on October 31st and ends in January with new Years.

Hmmm.  I agree, Seth. However... We are taking a loverly 'oliday in August to Scotland.  It's when most of the festivals (Fringe, Jazz, Tattoo, etc.) take place.  Yes, it's less expensive to go in May, but more fun to go in August, and fun is what it's all about :)  But that's Europe.  Hawaii, on the other hand is fun all year 'round :):).

Yeah here in the US, families with children will vacation more in the summer months (June thru the middle of August),  but we don't really have a holiday (vacation) season.  When i saw the OP I was confused also.  Holiday season here is centered around Christmas and does not infer vacation time.

We don't use the word 'vacation' - that is an American word [derived from the French vacances, I believe] , not English.

Just too add to the confusion....we really do not have a "vacation" or holiday season where businesses slow down.  So August is just as busy as any other month.  So the OP's thought that there would be less demand does enter the thought process in the US.

Well I'm going on holiday in August. In the UK, that's when the schools are out. We don't use the term "Vacation". Holiday comes from Holy Day. A day when people had a day off and went to church. The Catholics have Holy Days of Obligation, but that's another story. I'm going on holiday.

When I was a kid my dad worked, my mom kept house and we went on a two or three week vacation every August. We pulled a popup camper all across the USA...

Times have changed. My wife and I both work and have a vacation some years... not this year. (we have to work extra to help pay for... well, nevermind).

However, not all is lost I will have X1c in August. Maybe I will buy a 24" 1920x1200 monitor to celebrate and vacation at home for a week.
