Sonar X2 Fade

So I just spent the last 3 hours in X2 trying to insert a simple fade at the end of a song & I can not figure it out.
In older versions of Sonar you just click & drag at the end of the clip, easy.
I'm about to toss the pc out the window.

I tried those directions & I can't get them to work. Very confusing. I have a deadline for 7pm today so I'll have to skip the fades unfortunately. Thanks Cakewalk.

you just click & drag at the end of the clip, easy.

That is how it is done.  I believe that you may want to have the smart tool in 'smart' mode first.

You will probably get a better result by using track automation of the volume on selected tracks and on your master bus though.

    Simple fade?
Click on the Automation Lanes button on the Master Channel, that'll give you a volume envelope.
Left click on the line to add a node ... add 2 nodes.
Drag the one on the right to the bottom.
Right click between the two nodes and pick linear, fast or slow curve.

    Thanks everyone for the help!

How do you get the volume envelope on the Master channel to affect the midi tracks?

You should be routing all of you audio output, included the Simple Instrument Tracks and Audio tracks from MIDI to a Master Bus. The Master bus should be the only thing going to the audio interface Master channel.

    Got it!
    Thanks!

I can meet the deadline now with the results I wanted.
I have been neglecting my music production software studies. But there's no better teacher than crunch-time necessity.
