Sonar X2 Testimonial "Music Tech" & "Computer Music Magazine"
I'm back. seen on www.cakewalk.com Both magazines have they tested Sonar X2? It is true that is pretty, but not finished. Then give positive feedback for software not finished, Cakewalk had to pay the journalist for a nice story. They are ready to discredit it their business to help Cakewalk. It's beautiful, I will cry. Meanwhile, given no solution to correct or improve SONAR X2. No comment

I'm surprized you ever left since you seem to know where all the graves of Cakewalk, Cubase and all of journalism is buried. But to tell the truth, I didn't know you were gone. such a hole you left. @
https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

What is this jilted lover crap? You don't like it? ...get gone. This forum is filled with bright people, most all of which KNOW there are OTHER DAWs. They CHOOSE this one. Sonar not for you??? Focus your energies on learning the DAW you like and creating, instead of wasting time with inane posts.

Is English not your first language? I don't understand what you're ranting on about. I did understand the bit "...Cakewalk had to pay the journalist for a nice story." You'd best pray Cakewalk don't read that as it an actionable accusation.

A lot of people here make a living in music. Some people have problems and some people do not. This is because every computer itself is different. (Hardware, drivers, ect) Some people work through them. I resolved all my issues and now Sonar works for me just fine. I have used and use other DAWs. Sonar is my DAW of choice. It might not be yours even though ours is as you say pretty. So if we like Sonar and say it's incredible we are all in a cult? The magazines are being paid by cakewalk and they are saying it is not finished but it's pretty? If they were working for me I'd fire them. Bottom line you made wild accusations without any supporting links. Your a user since 2? Which version, Sonar 2, X2, pro Audio? Which version are you using now? I have been using Sonar since pro audio 9. There are other DAW's out there and if Sonar does not work for you personally then find one that does. It's funny you say I'm back and you only have 21 posts as of my writing this. Back from where? Too funny

To the original poster: 1. I have been a Cakewalk user since the DOS days when it was Cakewalk by Twelve Tone Systems. I believe that living through countless patches and upgrades since then gives me a fairly broad (multiple decades) perspective on their products. 2. At this point, I happen to have chosen to make the switch to using X2 Producer as my primary DAW. I HAVE retained prior versions, going back to 8.5.3 - still in the Producer flavor. I did this to try to mitigate any 'show stopper' situations where I could not find a way to produce finished musical projects. 3. If you are earning your living using Sonar, then why in the world did you make a switch to the leading edge version of this product? This is an even MORE poignant questions for YOU, because of your vast experience with prior releases of their products. Nearly ALL of corporate America will DEFER switching to Windows 8, lots of companies still use Windows XP Pro, until I believe the last survey indicated they would be switching no earlier than either 2014 or 2015, if memory serves. And yet there is YOU, vast reader of journalism, able to spot 'paid opinions' through simply reading articles that disagree with whatever perceptions you have. YOU, with your VAST experience with Sonar products. So, WHY then did YOU put yourself in position of losing income from a product you cannot seem to make work for you, put your financial EMPIRE at risk of failure like this? Did someone MAKE you install X2 and forgo all other releases? Last I recall, 8.5.3 is still some engineers go to money maker, though they are in the process of working X1 and/or X2 through their paces. And yet YOU saw no such need to hang back until you were satisfied it would fit your needs? Whose fault would THAT be? 4. You have provided NO indication whatsoever as to what ANY of your issues are with this version of Sonar. You provide NO listing of ANY of your software and hardware specifications, so there is NO chance of anybody reviewing and assisting. 5. You have provided NO evidence of any such collusion between Cakewalk and the magazines you accuse of getting paid to report good things about Sonar X2. 6. YOU are a #$^)(*@^)(*^^*(^*(SDFG(G dumb SDGF*(GD*(G(H sniveling (%(*%!(*% wet behind the ears #@(*(*^ immature (*!#(*^(* blithering idiot. So why don't you spend some quality time learning to be an ADULT, and some more time learning to be a PROPER business man, and whatever time is left LEARNING HOW TO USE THE PRODUCT? And yet, if you took the time to list your specs and post some proper posts containing explanations of whatever individual problems that are occurring in your attempts to use X2, I, ME, and probably others, WOULD attempt to help you resolve those issues. I WANT you and all here to be able to use the product to successfully record music. I have spent some time on this post alone, even though thus far you have most certainly deserved less. But stilll, I PROMISE you, that I would still try to help you. Perhaps there are some settings changes, or small little things that we have managed to work out that you have not, that proper posting and replying to address such issues may result in your getting PAST those problems and able to successfully get it all working. Are there changes? Sure. Are there problems? Sure. Are there people not knowing how to do some functions, where others are? Sure. It is the nature of software, and the nature of people in general to have issues in life. One of mankind's strengths is an ability to pull together to work on common issues and find ways to adapt, survive, and shine. So how about going into the Edit Profile function of the User Control Options, adding your current hardware and software specs to your Signature (like mine, appearing at the bottom of this post), checking the box to tell the forum to add your signature to all future posts, and then posting a new thread explaining one issue/problem you are having with Sonar X2, and I PROMISE you I will as objectively as possible try to come up with either an explanation of some changes that you might make, or some workaround in the event there was a design change that no longer allows something you are trying to do, or an advisement that you file a bug report due to whatever issue you are having appearing to actually BE a bug in the software. I really will try to help - but you need to respond with the information on your system that I asked for, and you have to fire up a new thread listing ONE problem you are having, with whatever information you can provide on how to reproduce the problem, so that myself and others can look at ways to resolve it - if possible, or conclude that it is in fact a bug. The ball is in your court, make your choice and continue - I will continue to pay attention to threads that are legitimate requests for assistance, with enough information in the posts to allow me to understand the issue. I will NOT be posting any additional responses to this post, NOR will I continue to read any further posts in this thread. Bob Bone

Speaking as someone who sometimes writes for various magazines and websites: when you read a review you disagree with, it is simply that. You and the reviewer have a different opinion. I have never been told to review something positively or negatively, and nobody I know has either.

Of course its a cult and our God is Greg Hendershott. Oh wonderful one don't lay waste his abode and send pestilence his unworthy way. We beseech you. Amen! P.S. maybe a little hardship would do the trick. Nah, its no cult. Not yet, anyway. Its a forum last time I looked which is just now.

Thanks reaperliveS1 :D Oh, and sorry for thing not being nice and separated, but cake can't even get the forum to work properly. I guess it depends on how hard you try to solve your own problems. I am able to quote you well enough. But I'm not sure exactly what you are saying. You have a lot of @s in your post that mean nothing to me. Now I do get the point about fixing bugs. What you need to consider is do you really think that the membership of this forum are in anyway opposed to that? That you are saying in effect we want bugs? It seems to me that you are talking to fellow members on a peer to peer forum and accusing us of insanity. That we want bugs for reasons I don't think you can stipulate. The OP has written a nonsense post that accuses Cakewalk of suborning perjury in the form of false statements from magazines. Did you really think we would except that on face value and not comment on it as being "off the wall". I hope the OP of this thread has better defenders come to his defense. You did not advance his cause at all.
