Sonar X2 on a laptop?

So I get my new computer configured and just waiting for that old tax refund to order it when I ran accross an ADK laptop, in a gamers forum of all places.  So I got to thinking.  Laptop DAW.  Or a Mac Laptop with Bootcamp.  So back here I search.

I find dual booting between Linux and Windows to be enough of a pain, I don't think I need to tortue myself with booting between MacOS and Windows.  I think I just answered that one.

I am downsizing and getting everything on a laptop verses a tower is very appealing.

I like the laptop for it portability and if I want to record a session on the road, it is a lot easier to transport than my tower, keyboard, monitor, interface, etc.

I like the ADK 9000.  Anybody here using one?  Any thoughts on would it be a good DAW machine?  I know I can't spec one out to what I had spec'ed for the tower, but it will come close enough for my use.

ADK builds awesome PC's made to handle DAW work.
If it's on his site the chances are that it'll meet your needs. Especially if you tweak it slightly.

Give them a call and discuss your needs and see what they come up with.
They're always happy to help you decide what you need and stay within or close to you budget.

    Couldn't hurt to call right?

I spent sometime chatting with their tech support.  Got all my questions answered.

When I went looking for info on laptops, most of the replies were not too positive, and the one that were positive were along the lines it works for small projects.  And the replies were over a year old.

I was curious if anyone here had been using one of his laptops.  The specs look nice.

I've been using off the shelf laptops (Dell Precision M90 - Hewlett Packard G72) for Sonar 6 through X2.
Most of my projects are 30-40 tracks, mostly audio with one or two MIDI.

If they can handle it then I'm sure even the lowest spec ADK lappy will have no problems.

I've been building my own DAW and reading peoples signatures around here to see what people are working with.
I've seen a few members here with an ADK laptop listed.

The computer forum doesn't get too much traffic. Try posting a link to this thread up in the X1-X2 forums.

Title it something like Laptops and X2. (I know it'll be a bit off topic up there but you'll get more bites and the folks are still friendly and helpful.)
