Sonar X2a & Kontakt5 issue

I have no idea where the problem lies, so before I start bugging both companies (searches through both knowledge bases turned up nothing) I thought I'd see if I'm the only one...

Some time back, almost certainly Sonar 8.5.3 and Kontakt4, I had a problem where the audio outputs from Kontakt were not properly labeled in the track view. The first few pairs were fine, but then they start to get garbeled, unassigned 13 and unassigned 15 might be combined to create a stereo output. This was strictly a label issue, the actual outputs all worked properly, and once established they stayed working, but if one had 16 stereo outputs from one Kontakt instance it was a pain to set up. All of the labels appear to be correct in the output section of Kontakt.

Anyway, sometime after X1 was released I noticed that the problem no longer appeared. All of the outputs were labeled correctly. Cool!

Now it's back.

As I use a lot of track templates it isn't something I'd necessarily notice, but this past week I was rebuilding a number of track folder templates to take advantage of some additional memory (thanks to Win7/x64).

So yeah, I've updated the OS, Sonar, and Kontakt - too many possibilities... anyone help me narrow the field?

Thanks!

    Bill,

Do a search for Kontakt and outputs. There are a few threads on this and it's not hard to fix. I just don't remember exactly how (without looking it up myself)

Agreed. Eli's explanation of Kontakt is very helpful in the KONTAKT EXPLAINED tutorial.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.
