Sonar X3 No Record Monitoring

I have been trying to setup Sonar to record a guitar I have plugged directly into my sound card. The default sound type was MME and I was able to record and hear what I was recording but on playback the guitar was all broken up. I switched to ASIO type and now the guitar records and plays back clean but I can't seem to monitor the input like it was working with the MME audio type. It's probably something really stupid I am missing. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

How does one delete a post??
I figured it out. In the ASIO Panel, drop the Latency to 2ms, and turn On the Input Monitoring button on the Track.

Just FYI, the Latency shouldn't make a difference, the crucial element here is the input monitoring button.

Yes, it shouldn't but for whatever reason it does in this case. It was set to it's default of 60 ms, and with the Input Button on there was a very noticeable delay between my playing and the sound out of the monitors. At 2ms the delay not perceivable, at least to my ears.
