Sonar X3 Producer Keeps Crashing

Having a problem when I record anything, it freezes when I stop recording. Says "record busy" on the recorded track and takes 5 min. to render and unfreeze. If I try to do anything before it is done rendering, studio turns white and crashes.
I have use this studio for 2 yrs. w/no problem like this all of a sudden I did a save as "cake bundle" for a few songs and the next day this kept happening. I tried resetting battery, and RAM but nothing. I ordered more RAM for it (has 2gb) ordered 4gb . I know this is not much RAM but like I said never did this in 2 years.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm surprised Sonar will even load with only 2Gb of RAM.

Your OS (which one?) will take all of that before you start doing anything else

Start by clearing the picture cache. The location of the cache is in Preferences > File > Audio Data "Picture Folder." Navigate to the folder in Windows Explorer and delete all the files in the folder.

Perhaps your browsing history is in need of cleaning out, as well, to get rid of the stored pages.

Have you recently installed any new plug-ins, or updated any plug-ins?

    Hey scook,
Thanks so much' That did it!!! By deleting old files in the picture cache I was finally able to get back to normal operation. Very frustrating week.
