Sonar X3 Simple Instrument Track

Im hoping someone can help me find my problem with simple instrument track..no matter how or which way I expand my track I see nothing but the clips option..on my older Sonar 8 it would show the in/out..midi channel..bank etc...you can see in this link what the track should look like..again I only have the clips to choose from.. (fig. 275)
 
 
 
anyone else encounter this and is it something Ive set up wrong? Thanks so much to everyone for your help.. 
 
I noticed the link didnt post? not sure how to do this but I got it from google..sonar X3 simple instrument track..

    I don't see an image.
     
    On the mixer screen, you can set your midi input / instrument output under the fader. I'm guessing that's what you're looking for?
     
    or do you mean the box highlighted here:
     
    This means it creates a channel as the output for your instrument. They typically use the name of the VSTi that is loaded.

    Maybe what you are looking for has been moved to the Inspector MIDI tab show by clicking "S" in the illustration below from http://www.cakewalk.com/D...pectors.3.html#1220713

    Or is the Track Control List not set to "All". The Track Control List is the drop down between the menus and the track strips to the right of the time display on the track view. In the illustration below from http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/default.aspx?Doc=SONAR%20X3&Lang=EN&Req=Views.02.html it is the drop down set to "Mix" below the menus in the red rectangle.

    scook..once again that was it...not sure why but mine was set on custom..Ive also seen where you can modify and make it show what you want...thanks again for your help and thanks RobMc it was fig. 275 right below your posting...again thanks!!
