Sonar X3 & Behringer X32

Hi all
I use Sonar X3 Producer and am trying to record using my new Behringer X32 Producer but I'm obviously missing something. I've used Sonar for a while but only with individual single stereo channel soundcards. I think I need some help with routing but also the setup for ASIO as I'm a novice with these.
 
I have installed the latest 2.23 drivers for the X32. If I select the ASIO driver the only options I get as devices are:
X-USB ASIO Driver In 1 & X-USB ASIO Driver Out 1
No ability to select different channels. Also if I try to do anything I get an immediate audio dropout. The X32 is sampling at 44.1khz and the card-out outputs are all selected to Card 1-8.
If I select the MME driver I still only get the single Line/Speakers options for input/output but I don't get the audio dropout, also I don't get any audio signal being recorded or played back.
If I select the WDM driver I only get input/output options and although I don't get the audio dropout the audio is really stuttering and again I can't seem to get the routing right to record the audio.
 
If I disable the X32 and use my old soundcards (SPS 25 and Alesis) I can use the WDM drivers or the MME drivers to playback/record projects with a dozen audio tracks with fx without any issues.
 
My PC is high enough spec: i7-6700; 32GB; SSD, its fairly new and running Windows 10 and although I haven't done a lot of tweaking, up until trying to use the X32 it was working just fine with Sonar.
 
Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I think I have sorted out the routing and now if I select 32/32 or 16/8, etc on the X32 I get the relevant inputs/outputs in Sonar if I choose the WDM or ASIO drivers.
 
The problem I am still having is dropouts and stuttering. Regardless of what I set the latency or buffering to with ASIO I still get a dropout as soon as I hit record and with the WDM driver no matter what I do I am still getting stuttering. I'm beginning to think it must be something in Windows 10 but as there is no problem with the other soundcards I am a bit stumped.
 
Any other suggestions you think I should look at would really be appreciated.

Is your X32 firmware updated to the latest version?

Although that last message does imply something is wrong on the computer side of things...

Are you connected to a USB 2.0 port or 3.0 port?  It may or may not make a difference, but some USB 2.0 interfaces (interface is the wrong word for this board, but oh well) don't work well (at all) with 3.0 ports.  Also, are you disabling WiFi - it can cause drop out issues.
 
Do you have a separate audio drive or are you using your system SSD to record the audio to?

Thanks for the message I changed the USB port the X32 was plugged into, it was a USB 3.0 port so I have now put it in a USB 2.0 port - and guess what - it works. I didn't realise it would make a difference, I actually though that it would be better putting it in the USB3 port as they are supposed to be compatible.

Please configure for ASIO and choose a buffer size of 256. That'll give us a starting point to match and compare working to non-working configurations. 
 
Does playback work correctly?

May I please ask how you got it to work? I have sonar artist on a laptop for live situations. I was planning to transport files to my "studio" computer at home to work on which has platinum installed. Sonar shows it's connected to the x32 but I am not getting a signal. I have the x32 output set to card 1-8, card 9-16, etc. I have sonar set to asio. I'm sure I'm overlooking something simple but I have almost given up and hoping you can help me out. Please.
