Sonar X3 and Korg SQ1

Hi All,

Has anyone here tried to control a soft synth in Sonar X3 via a Korg SQ1? I have a Beatstep and it works perfectly sequencing soft synths, the Korg however does not follow suit. I have taken it to my local Korg agents who tested it with Cubase and apparently it works perfectly. If anyone has any experience on this subject your assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Derek

Hard to say. Cubase probably defaults to something that connects with the SQ1. First stop is to make sure it shows up under Devices in preferences.

    Thanks for the feedback!
It does show up in preferences and when I insert a synth it is selectable as a midi source, just no communication between the SQ1 and Sonar. Quite bizarre!

    Hi Jesse

Thanks for the info! It would seem I have bought the wrong tool for the job of sequencing my soft synths, although it puzzles me that the local Korg agents got it running Halion in Cubase!? Perhaps I should ask them to physically show me how they did it. As the article reads I don't see how it is possible.

    Thanks again!
