Sonar X3 - sidechain Vst's?

Hi,

How do I side chain effects that aren't Cakewalks own effects. I have a "Waves C1 Compressor" that has a sidechain but I can't seem to activate the side chain and get it to display/work (I know it works as it did in Cubase). I have followed some youtube videos but they only seem to sidechain Cakewalks own effects.

Am I doing something wrong?

    On the track/bus whatever that you want to send to the sidechain input of the C1, click the + beside 'SENDS' and the C1 will be available in the dropdown list

    Make sure you are using the VST3 waves plugins. Only those support sidechaining.

    Hi,

    I have checked and it is VST3. I checked the manual for C1 just incase I was being stupid but am doing as it says.

    I must be doing something wrong!

    ahh interesting. C6 shows up straight away in the sidechain menu
