Sonar X3c with Antelope Orion getting audio dropouts

I just upgraded my computer to an i7 with 16gb ram. I also upgraded my interface to the Orion and upgraded Sonar from X2 to X3c. I started a new project recording just an audio track and a midi track and no problems. Then I started a new project recording basic tracks, 8 tracks of drums, 1 guitar, and 1 bass. I started to get audio dropouts. Of course the Orion is running the most current drivers and firmware. I'm using the Orion with usb 2. The os is Windows 7 pro. I tried restarting the computer, restarting the Orion and adjusting the buffers. The drop outs seemed to be gone when I made sure the buffers were all set the same in the Orion and in Sonar's advanced Audio page. But after the band arrived and we started actual recording, I got a drop out at the fourth measure in. No matter what I did the audio would always stop at the 4th measure. So moved all the tracks forward so that recording began at the 4th measure and was able to complete the tracking without any further drop outs. Then I tried to move the tracks back the 1st measure and Sonar would not allow me to move the tracks forward. After several attempts Sonar let me move it forward to the 2nd measure, but that was it.
Any thoughts?
