Sonar and Band In a Box tempo maps

I am working on some backing tracks using BIAB and using the original recordings to build the chord progressions.  BIAB allows you to use tempo mapping so the tracks stay in time with the original recording which can mean each bar can be a different length depending on the original recording.  Can Sonar handle this mapping?  Has anyone tried this?  I could always just get rid of the mapping once I have the backing tracks built but thought it may sound more live if I keep the original timing.
