Sonar and G-player

Hi,
 
a long, long time ago I used a combination of Gigastudio and some Nuendo version for composing. For several reasons I took a long break, but want to start making music again.
 
Sadly, as Tascam has discontinued Gigastudio I am left with quite a few Gig. files and no program to use them with.
 
My idea now is to use G-player () and Sonar Producer X2. However, as I looked at Sonar at a friends house there was no immediate option to integrate G-player as a virtual synthesizer (which is of course not really shocking).
 
My question would be (and I apologize in advance, if it is a stupid one), if those two programs can be combined without too much of a hassle, or if I should rather switch to Halion 3 and convert my old gig. files.

    According to this web site http://soundlib.com/gplayer/
    the G-player is a VST plug-in.
    It can also be used in stand alone mode, which you may be using.
    You need to find the file location of the G-Player VST and add it to your list of plug-ins to be scanned in the SONAR Plug-in Manager. Once added to the list, click Scan and the VST should be available under Insert>Soft Synths.
