Sonar and New Plug Ins

I have three new plug ins, but Sonar can't seem to find them to load into Plug In Manager.  I can move them anywhere in my computer.  Where area/folder does Sonar like to look for new downloaded plug ins?

Thanks.

You can put the VST plugins wherever you want but you have to tell SHS where they are.

Go to Options > Global Options > VST Plugins.  There you'll see paths to where  other VSTs are.  After you tell SHS where the VSTs are you must either rescan or close SHS and reopen it.

Have fun with the new "toys".

You have to rescan. Restarting will only work if you have Sonar set to scan VSTs on startup, which most people don't use because it causes Sonar to take a lot longer to start and its totally unnecessary. You only need to scan if you add a new plug-in.

Dave - good catch.  Thanks.  I'd have felt bad if Carl followed my advice and his VSTs still didn't work.
