Sonar and USB mixer setup

Hey all:

I bought an Alesis Multimix USB mixing board which Sonar doesn't seem to recognize. I can't get any tracks to arm for recording or even play back imported wav files. I hooked my old Edirol UA20 box back up to the USB cable and Sonar then behaves normally. Sound Forge, Audacity and Acid will all let me record using the Alesis USB board, only Sonar is giving me grief.

I pulled down the Sonar Options menu and clicked on Audio to run the wav profiler, but there is no wav profiler available on the menu to run to acquire the USB device and Sonar acts as if there is no sound card present. I've already checked the Device Manager and everything seems to be okay. There are no driver conflicts involved for the Alesis and I've tried uninstalling Sonar and installing it again. Per the manual for the Alesis board, I've also tried turning on the board first before booting up the PC, but still no joy.

Suggestions?

Tio Ed

Ed - I just noticed your post. Have you tried changing drivers? It sounds like you are probably using WDM (could be MME, but I doubt it). I'm not 100% positive, but I believe the Alesis has ASIO drivers. If that doesn't work, you could try downloading ASIO4ALL. They're really only WDM drivers but they fake out CW and the card to make them think you're running ASIO.

Also - you might get more attention to your question on the Sonar Forum. Lots of good folks there that can probably help more than I can!
