Sonar more stable then Ableton

I am just testing Ableton Live Lite and the very first day, first project while adding 6th track with CV piano Ableton crashes
So when I'm comparing my Sonar X1 Studio which I 'm testing for a month I can say Sonar is more stable then Ableton overall.
Only one freeze under much heavier stress during working project not just during setting up project
I guess I'm gonna uninstall Ableton.

This is yet another example of how different systems can react so differently to software.

I've been a LONG time user of Sonar (7 years) and 2 years now with Live.   I've literally NEVER had an Ableton Live crash on my system, whereas I've had multiple crashes in every version of Sonar.

Now, in fairness -- I don't use Live as often as I have Sonar versions, so there's some relativity to consider.

And, X1 was a real difficult beast for me from the get-go, but since installing the new "Expanded" I've had very good success with it finally (well, for the last few days at least).

So it really does seem to be both hardware dependent (ie, the configuration of one's system and its components) and probably some degree of user proficiency as well.

But in the end - it's whatever works well for the user that matters.

I like using more than one DAW/Host these days anyway - so I'm happy to be able to (now) use Sonar X1, Live, Studio One Pro - for the most part these are my arsenal.   I have others, but I'm not interested as much in the others.

So - enjoy what works for ya.  We live at a time when the tools at our disposal to make music are outstanding.
