Sonar: mystery of the disappearing track!
Hello all, I hope this is the right place to post - I was editing 17 tracks of audio, when I realised that track 1 had disappeared from view, but it plays on the top of every other track, unless they're soloed, and played on its own when all the other, visible tracks were muted. Can you help?

Try opening the track manager using the H keyboard shortcut. You may have hidden your track inadvertently. Welcome to the forum!

This happened to me today. How would one inadvertantly hide a track? I'd like to avoid this happening again.

it typically happens by accident when you have a track selected (highlighted) and click on the shortcut key (CTRL+H). This shortcut hides the selected track/tracks. You can always click SHIFT+H to show all tracks. Or as 10Ft said, Click H to bring up the Track Manager.

It's even possible you've hit the scroll wheel and scrolled the track up so it can't be seen.

Thanks all for your help. I think you were right to say it was the 'control and H' that did it. I switched off power and started again and the track appeared. I've another couple of problems I hope you can help with (!) a/ The same 17 tracks now won't play at all - whilst other song files do. Any suggestions? b/ for years I've been getting, periodically, and increasingly, the message 'there are no audio devices for the current model on your system' when I open Sonar, and thus no sounds. I unplug and plug in my EdirolUA25, and sometimes the message appears, sometimes it's ok. Any ideas? Much appreciated!

Thanks for the kind welcome, Bruce. Oh crikey, I've just seen my inadvertently repeated posts - humble apologies, I only clicked once, so I don't know how that happened. The main problem I'm having currently is trying to open a file that was opening just fine, and now returns the message "The file you are trying to open is not compatible with this version of Sonar." It's quite a large audio file, I don't know if that's anything to do with it. Any suggestions extremely welcome! many thanks tpp
