Sonar occassionally produces nothing but static.

So this only started happening very recently. I just got my computer a few weeks ago and it all seemed fine until VST instruments stopped producing their normal sound and producing deep, unpleasant staticy noises. I initially solved the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling Sonar 4 LE. And now this my third time doing it and I don't want to keep doing that. This only happens on my new computer. I thought perhaps it had something to do with the fact that it was Windows 8... but it's only been happening in the past week or so. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks. (EDIT - So it appears that it's taken to doing that whenever I have the audacity to decide to enable Microsoft WaveSynth... only the thing is, it NEVER had a problem with that before. Ever.)

That's a symptom of too low a buffer setting. Try increasing your audio buffer that should sort it out. The more VSTs you use the more of a problem a low buffer becomes. What works with one or two VSTs might not with 3 or 4.
