Sonar on MacBook Pro w/ Bootcamp??
Hello, I was just wondering, I'm thinking about buying a new MacBook Pro and want to install Windows using Bootcamp. Is there any issues with using Sonar on Windows using this method? Are there any particular known issues with this or is it common practice? Thank You, Adam

Well I like the Apple products, but not Logic... would like to Bootcamp a macbook pro, using the mac side as my main computer, and the windows side for my DAW. Are there any issues running Sonar on a Windows Bootcamp partition? Thanks, Adam

Works here, but not with the inboard soundcard. I have to use an external soundcard.

I run SONAR X1d Expanded on both my Mac Pro (16GB RAM) and Macbook Pro (8GB RAM) with no issues. I would highly recommend that you have an external soundcard for lower latency recording/mixing performance.

Sine wave , it will work !! but i do suggest a HP elitebook with a dual boot .....!! (what i have here) Disk management , heat , waranty/support , lack of ports , near to none upgradability, no docking solution ,build quality (not finition ;)), drivers certified , ..... and on and on ....if not for logic , NO intererst to get a mac , specialy when win 7 have nothing less that osx ....( for the intrenet partition side ;) Be sure to get some new gpu driver if you go mbp ...;)

MIDIMINDS I run SONAR X1d Expanded on both my Mac Pro (16GB RAM) and Macbook Pro (8GB RAM) with no issues. And if you do spring for the MBP, ignore Apple's "max 8GB" spec, and throw 16GB in that bad boy... Crucial seems to be one of the recommended brands... even direct from Crucial you can get it for $10/GB, and probably cheaper elsewhere if they have it in stock... This is what I'm using: http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=8C9B5883A5CA7304

Also be aware that Cakewalk has stopped support for SONAR run under Boot amp. They did initially then dropped it due to various problems with a boot amp release. So if you're happy to fly solo with your only support being this forum then go for it. I'm not suggesting you should or shouldn't do it. Just making you aware of the fact that if you run into problems you can't expect help from Cakewalk.
