Sonar pro: Save project without altering device settings / save hardware device profile

hi,
Is there a way to save a project without saving HW changes, or alternatively to save a HW profile (soundcard/midi device) that I could easily re-apply to the project?
 
Use case is: in the studio I use my laptop with a Cymatic LR16 USB, which has 16 channels.
After recording, I will sit on the sofa with a 2 channel USB soundcard, so the tracks audio device mappings / midi settings will be changed due to availability, and thus saved in the project. 
 
I want to be able to make edits to the content, but not change the HW settings when I save the project from the sofa, so that the "studio settings" persist even if I do some edits when connected to other HW.
 
 
Is there a way to do this?
